چکیده
We study the behaviour of nonnegative solutions of the reaction-diffusion equation ut = (u)xx + a(x)up in R× (0, T ), u(x, 0) = u0(x) in R. The model contains a porous medium diffusion term with exponent m > 1, and a localized reaction a(x)up where p > 0 and a(x) ≥ 0 is a compactly supported function. We investigate the existence and behaviour of the solutions of this problem in dependence of the exponents m and p. We prove that the critical exponent for global existence is p0 = (m + 1)/2, while the Fujita exponent is pc = m + 1: if 0 < p ≤ p0 every solution is global in time, if p0 < p ≤ pc all solutions blow up and if p > pc both global in time solutions and blowing up solutions exist. In the case of blow-up, we find the blow-up rates, the blow-up sets and the blow-up profiles; we also show that reaction happens as in the case of reaction extended to the whole line if p > m, while it concentrates to a point in the form of a nonlinear flux if p < m. If p = m the asymptotic behaviour is given by a self-similar solution of the original problem. ∗ Corresponding author. A note on blow-up in parabolic equations with local and localized sources
This note deals with the systems of parabolic equations with local and localized sources involving $n$ components. We obtained the exponent regions, where $kin {1,2,cdots,n}$ components may blow up simultaneously while the other $(n-k)$ ones still remain bounded under suitable initial data. It is proved that different initial data can lead to different blow-up phenomena even in the same ...
متن کاملBlow-up in a Subdiffusive Medium of Infinite Extent
Thermal blow-up in a subdiffusive medium with a localized energy source is examined for a spatial domain of infinite extent in one, two, and three dimensions. An analysis of a nonlinear model of this problem reveals that a blow-up always occurs, independent of the spatial dimension and the thermal properties of the material. This behavior is in contrast with both classical diffusion and superdi...
متن کاملBlow-Up of Solutions for a Class of Reaction-Diffusion Equations with a Gradient Term under Nonlinear Boundary Condition
The blow-up of solutions for a class of quasilinear reaction-diffusion equations with a gradient term ut = div(a(u)b(x)∇u)+ f (x,u, |∇u|2, t) under nonlinear boundary condition ∂u/∂n + g(u) = 0 are studied. By constructing a new auxiliary function and using Hopf’s maximum principles, we obtain the existence theorems of blow-up solutions, upper bound of blow-up time, and upper estimates of blow-...
متن کاملBlow-up profiles of solutions for the exponential reaction-diffusion equation
We consider the blow-up of solutions for a semilinear reaction diffusion equation with exponential reaction term. It is know that certain solutions that can be continued beyond the blow-up time possess a nonconstant selfsimilar blow-up profile. Our aim is to find the final time blow-up profile for such solutions. The proof is based on general ideas using semigroup estimates. The same approach w...
متن کاملA Numerical Investigation of Blow-up in The Moving Heat Source Problems in Two-dimensions
The temperature of a combustible material will rise or even blow up when a heat source moves across it. In this paper, we study the blow-up phenomenon in this kind of moving heat source problems in two-dimensions. First, a two-dimensional heat equation with a nonlinear source term is introduced to model the problem. The nonlinear source is localized around a circle which is allowed to move. By ...
